ATLA

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 5, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and ATLA. By creating an account or using ATLA, you agree to them. Please read them — they describe what ATLA does, what we ask of you, and the limits of what we promise.

What ATLA is

ATLA is an AI college-application planning tool. It helps you build a school list, plan your timeline, and think through and revise your essays and supplements. ATLA is a tool to help you do your best work — it is not a guarantee of admission to any school or of any particular outcome.

Who can use ATLA

You must be at least 13 years old to use ATLA. If you are under 18, we encourage you to involve a parent or guardian in your college process.

Acceptable use

Use ATLA for its intended purpose. Do not misuse the service, attempt to break or overload it, scrape or harvest data from it, or use it to harm others or break the law. The content you create with ATLA is yours; the service is ours to protect.

Academic integrity

ATLA is built to help you plan and revise your own work — to think more clearly, tell your story in your own voice, and catch what you might have missed. It is not built to write your application for you, and it should not be used that way.

You must submit your own work. You are responsible for making sure your use of ATLA complies with the rules and policies of your school, and of the colleges you apply to, including any policies they have about AI assistance. When in doubt, ask them, and follow their guidance.

AI outputs may be imperfect

ATLA is powered by AI, and AI can be wrong. It may state something inaccurately or miss something important. For anything that matters — deadlines, application requirements, financial figures, program details — verify it yourself with the school or the official source before you rely on it.

No admission-outcome guarantees

College admissions decisions are made by the colleges, not by ATLA. We do not guarantee admission, scholarships, financial aid, or any other outcome. ATLA aims to be honest about your odds, but it cannot change them for you.

Your content and our content

You own your content — your essays, your answers, and everything you create with ATLA. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content as needed to operate and improve ATLA for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We own ATLA — the software, design, and our own content that make up the service. These terms do not give you any rights to them beyond using the service as intended.

Disclaimers

ATLA is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do our best to make it reliable and useful, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or right for every situation. Your use of ATLA is at your own discretion and risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, ATLA and the people who build it are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including any admissions or financial outcome. Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using ATLA and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end access to the service if these terms are broken or if we need to protect ATLA or its users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as ATLA grows. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using ATLA after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and your state of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
